Dave Morin, Co-owner/ Service advisor
Dave Morin was born and raised in
California. He went to school in
CA. His first car was a 1966 Super
Sport with a big block motor and a 4-speed tranny. This
was the perfect car for a young guy to get into trouble
with. He worked on his cars and his friend’s hot rods.
Dave worked in machine shops for 22 years. He owned a
highly successful machine shop called Prime Machining.
Dave now owns a racecar prep and general street car
service shop called Motion Motorsports in Morgan Hill, CA.
Dave is definitely a Chevy guy when it comes to his
cars. He has a 1965 Corvette, a 1996 Corvette Grand
Sport and a 1989 Camaro 1LE road race car.
Dave started racing a 1989 Corvette in SCCA Solo II in
1995. He won Rookie of the Year and was hooked on
racing. In 1996, he won most improved driver. In 2002,
Dave road raced his Camaro
in NASA’s CMC finishing 5th in season points. In
2003, Dave road raced the Camaro again, finishing 2nd in
season points. Dave continues to love the racing game
and still holds many track records and most amount of
pole positions for a season. He participates in road
racing with the ‘89, autocrossing with the ’96, car
shows with the ’65. His personal experience on the track
makes him a great asset for the company offing set-up
and tuning expertise.
Pierre DaCunha Co-owner/ Mechanic
Pierre started his automotive
career at the age of 18 working for the Bay Areas most
prestigious tire and wheel outfitters then moving on to
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co of Los Gatos, California. He
received training in sales, service and tire
construction / performance.
He also worked in other divisions at Goodyear
including the commercial truck tire and wholesale
division for a total of five years. For the next five
years, he worked at Mark's Automotive, which was known
for its incredible Corvette restorations and hot rod
He worked at the Bay Area's premier speed shop, Speed
Merchant in San Jose,
brought in for his excellent preventive
maintenance/repair skills that have been applied to many
club and professional racecars. He worked on everything
from Camaros and Mustangs for club racing to the famous
Corvettes of the World Challenge series. He has been
part of building and designing many of the classic
muscle cars seen in today's magazines. His problem
solving and leadership skills have lead him to the
position of shop foreman in the short time of four
years. While at Speed Merchant, Pierre has become an expert at Holley fuel
injection and carburetor tuning as well as being a
custom wheel aligner, exhaust fabricator and diagnostic
professional. Pierre is also A.S.E. certified.

Motion Motorsports in Morgan Hill, CA.
They specialize in anything from changing oil in the
family minivan to building racecars from the ground up!
